Updates on CASNCC

1) All the registered 22 athletes (less Mr Marcus and ms Fiona) from the recent ACIC 2015 will be suspended for 2 years until 15th April 2017 from all CAS events including coaching course and competitions.
2) Affected 2 athletes (Mr Marcus and Ms Fiona) will be suspended for 3 years until 15th April 2018 for all events stated above.
3) Ms Michelle Koh as the coach will be suspended for 5 years until 15th April 2020 for all events stated above.
4) Legacy All Stars Cheerleading Team will be suspended from this year's Nationals on 19th April 2015.
Legacy had tried to appeal for the two "ineligible" athletes (Marcus and Fiona, as they took part in CAIO 2014) right after we were informed. This was already one week after ACIC 2015. However, the appeal was not approved given the reason that we did not submit this appeal prior.
We admit that it did not cross us during the early bird registration to inform the association on our two "ineligible" athletes primarily because we were rushing for the already delayed registration. We submitted our registration a few days after the early bird registration, hence we are really grateful that we were allowed the early bird registration fees. The difference in registration amount is quite substantial if it was not registered during the early bird period. Of course, we certainly had no intention in hiding or barging the two athletes into the competition, and would unquestionably withdraw them if they were disapproved of their participation.
The committee of Legacy All Stars Cheerleading Team did not try to bend the rules nor are we testing the system of the association. It was also mentioned to CAS that if any decision is made to revoke the ACIC 2015 results (which was mentioned in the email to inform us on our eligible athletes) or any further actions were to be imposed to the team, it would be a severe penalty not to the team, but to the unknowing members who have forked out their time and hardwork for this competition.
We understand that many other athletes are still largely involved in other events, and mainly because nobody has any control over anybodys’ rights to participate in any competitions. It is only our goal to promote cheerleading locally as well as to market internationally that cheerleading actually exists in Singapore. In the past years since 2011, Legacy has diligently submitted all the appeal letters for any of our athletes who were involved in other events. All these members usually found themselves associated with non affiliated events until they have joined a team which puts them through competition organized by CAS such as SEACO/ACIC/CASNCC.
Legacy has always been thriving to work well with all local and international cheerleading teams, as well as cooperating amicably with all associations in order to bring cheerleading in Singapore to a greater height.
In summary, we had sought the association's understanding and consideration in our explanation on why we did not declare the statuses of the two athletes, but it was not approved on grounds that we did not submit the appeal prior.
Thank you all, family, friends and fans, for your support and we apologize for the disappointment caused by our inability to compete at this event.
Regards
